Eufy Indoor Cam S350; the best home security camera with local storage without a subscription. Their old cameras were sold with 7 days of cloud storage, so a subscription was not necessary. New cameras require an Arlo Secure subscription to record in the cloud. Everything worked fine (recording, playback) until today.
My smart base has always recorded all the cameras and the playback. To be more precise, it stopped working ONLY on some newer cameras (ultra 2 and Pro). I also noticed that the record button and the screenshot disappeared from those cameras. This home security camera has an excellent range of features, from close zoom to human and pet detection, with a focus on local storage and without subscriptions.
This is a worrying trend considering that two of the largest home security manufacturers have increased the prices of their services consecutively for two consecutive years. Or, if you add the camera to the complete Lorex home security system with its touch controls, you can switch to a mode that keeps you completely disconnected. If you're already using a voice assistant or a fully intelligent home security system, look for a camera that's compatible with it.
